How to play road trip bingo
Road trip bingo turns the view out of the window into a game. Every card has things to spot from the car (a red barn, a tunnel, a fire truck, an out-of-state license plate), shuffled differently for each kid so siblings can't copy. There is no caller: whoever spots it first calls it out. The default batch is eight cards, so you have a fresh one for each leg of the trip.
- Print 2 per page and clip each card to a clipboard or a piece of cardboard.
- Kids mark items as they spot them. Another passenger has to see it too for it to count.
- First line wins a snack pick; blackout wins the next rest-stop treat.
Tips for a better game
- City drive? Swap in "Crosswalk", "Bus stop", "Pizza place" and "Delivery truck".
- Use 3×3 for little kids: nine squares fills fast enough to stay fun.
- Put a pencil on a string. Lost pencils under the seat end more games than boredom does.
- Driving to see family for the holidays? Holiday travel bingo adds lit-up houses, snowplows and antlers on cars.
