How to play team icebreaker bingo
In "find someone who" bingo there is no caller. Each square is a prompt such as "Speaks two languages" or "Has a hidden talent", and players walk around to find a different person who fits each one. It works for new teams, onboarding days, workshops and the first week of school, because every square starts a real conversation. The prompts here avoid sensitive topics like age, health or family plans.
- Hand everyone a card and a pen. The defaults are 4×4 cards, which take about 15 minutes.
- Players find a person who matches a square and write that person's name in it.
- One rule makes it work: each person's name can appear only once on your card.
- The first to finish a line wins. Then ask a few people to share the best story they heard.
Tips for a better game
- Add prompts about your own team ("Has worked in two departments", "Can explain our product in one sentence").
- Remote team? Use breakout rooms of 3-4 and give each room five minutes.
- Keep prompts opt-in and positive. "Has a pet" is great, while anything about salary, age or health is not.
